Usage
Here are common infrastructure stacks you can deploy with KibanOS. Each example shows the services involved and how they map to projects and environments.
Full-stack web app
A typical web application with a database, cache, and background jobs.
- PostgreSQL — primary database.
- Redis — caching, session storage, and job queues.
- Nginx — reverse proxy and static file serving.
Create a project called my-webapp, install the three services, and assign them to a development environment. When you are ready to go live, create a production environment with the same services. Each environment gets its own isolated network — nothing leaks between them.
E-commerce platform
An online store that needs search, sessions, and a database.
- PostgreSQL — product catalog, orders, users.
- Redis — cart, sessions, cache.
- Elasticsearch — full-text product search.
Deploy this stack across staging and production. Each environment is fully independent. Staging can use smaller resource limits while production runs at full capacity.
AI / ML application
An AI application that needs a vector database and a model runtime.
- PostgreSQL — user data and metadata.
- Redis — caching and rate limiting.
- Qdrant — vector database for embeddings.
- Ollama — local LLM inference.
Start with a development environment to experiment. When the model and prompts are ready, promote the same stack to production with a single environment creation.
Monitoring stack
Infrastructure monitoring and alerting for your services.
- Prometheus — metrics collection.
- Grafana — dashboards and visualization.
- Loki — log aggregation.
Install this stack in its own project. Point Prometheus at your other services to collect metrics. Grafana connects to both Prometheus and Loki out of the box.
CMS
A content management system with a database and media storage.
- WordPress or Strapi — CMS.
- PostgreSQL or MySQL — database.
- Redis — object cache.
WordPress works with MySQL. Strapi works with PostgreSQL. Pick the combination that fits your project and install everything from the catalog.
Development tools
A self-hosted development platform with version control and CI.
- Gitea — Git hosting.
- Drone — CI/CD pipeline.
- PostgreSQL — database for Gitea and Drone.
Run this in a development environment on a local or spare server. Your team gets a private GitHub-like setup without depending on external services.
