Installation
Prerequisites
KibanOS runs on Linux and requires Docker and Docker Compose. Make sure both are installed and running before you begin.
- Docker — version 24 or later.
- Docker Compose — included with Docker Desktop or installed as a standalone plugin.
KibanOS installs everything else automatically. You do not need Node.js, pnpm, or any other tool on the host system.
Install KibanOS
Run the installation script:
curl -fsSL https://get.kibanos.com | shThat is it. The script downloads KibanOS, sets up the CLI, and starts the platform. Once it finishes, open the web UI and create your first project.
What happens during installation
The installer handles everything for you:
- Downloads and configures KibanOS core services.
- Installs the Kiban CLI at
~/.kiban/bin/kiban. - Sets up the local data directory under
~/.kiban/. - Starts the web UI and API.
You do not need to configure Docker networks, reverse proxies, or ports manually. KibanOS takes care of all of it.
The Kiban CLI
The installer adds the kiban command to your system. Use it to manage your KibanOS installation from the terminal.
kiban doctor # Check system health
kiban version # Show installed version
kiban update # Update KibanOS to the latest version
kiban uninstall # Remove KibanOS from your systemThe CLI is the primary way to manage KibanOS. Dashboard-based updates are not available yet.
Verify your installation
After installation, run the doctor command to make sure everything is working:
kiban doctorIf all checks pass, KibanOS is ready to use. Open the web UI and start creating projects and installing services.
