ZoneMinder

ZoneMinder is a video surveillance system that captures streams from cameras and organizes them as events you can search and replay. It supports a wide range of camera and encoder types, offers configurable motion detection with zones and thresholds, includes a web frontend for live viewing and control, and can be paired with a separate NVR for long-term storage.

Homeowners and small offices use it to watch entrances, driveways or shops and to avoid recording footage nobody cares about.

On your own hardware the recordings stay inside the building, there is no cloud retention fee or per-camera licence, and the footage is stored in ordinary video files you can copy, archive and restore.
