TimescaleDB

TimescaleDB is a PostgreSQL extension that turns a table into a hypertable, splitting rows into time-based chunks so a query touches only the range it needs. It adds columnar compression for older data, continuous aggregates that refresh incrementally as new rows arrive, and functions such as time_bucket for rollups, all written in ordinary SQL.

Teams use it for IoT, application telemetry, and monitoring data while keeping the same tables, joins, and tooling they already rely on for relational work.

It can run as an extension on your PostgreSQL instance, keeping time-series data alongside the rest of your data without a separate cluster.
