Snapdrop

A browser based file transfer tool inspired by AirDrop that lets two devices on the same network find each other and exchange files with nothing installed. Transfers run peer to peer over WebRTC, with WebSockets used for discovery, no account is required, and the interface is a progressive web app that works on phones, tablets and desktops.

People use it to move photos off a phone, hand a document to a colleague in the next room, or pass a file across a LAN with no internet access.

Hosting the instance on your own infrastructure means the files never reach a hosted service, and because it can sit behind a private address, only devices inside your walls can see it.
