Invidious

Invidious is an alternative front end for YouTube that fetches and plays videos without tracking you or serving advertisements. It mirrors the familiar browsing, channel, playlist and subscription experience, adds privacy-oriented features such as a proxy that streams video through your own server, and exposes an API for other tools to query.

People use it to watch subscriptions on their own terms, to skip the ad and telemetry layer of the official site, or to give a shared server a lighter way to browse video.

Since the instance is yours, your watch history and subscriptions stay on your hardware, there is no account tier or per-view charge, and the database and settings are yours to back up.
