Ansible

Ansible playbooks are defined in YAML, but running them needs somewhere to trigger the runs and watch the output, and that is the job this web interface takes on. It stores inventories, credential and variable groups, and reusable task templates in the browser, then runs playbooks on demand or on a cron schedule and keeps a searchable log of every execution.

Platform engineers and sysadmins use it for routine patching, server provisioning, application deploys and compliance checks, especially where the team would rather click than type ansible-playbook commands.

Since the control plane runs on your own hardware, the inventory of your infrastructure and every secret it references stays in the building, there is no licence to renew, and a snapshot of the app database restores the whole setup.
